Global semiconductor manufacturer ROHM has developed a new 100V power MOSFET, the RY7P250BM, specifically designed for 48V hot-swap circuits in AI servers. The device has been recognized as a recommended component by a leading global cloud platform provider.
The new MOSFET addresses key challenges in AI server power systems by combining a wide Safe Operating Area (SOA) with low on-resistance:
Wider SOA: It can withstand surge currents of up to 50A (1ms pulse) and 16A (10ms pulse) at 48V, ensuring high reliability during power-on and high-load events.
Lower On-Resistance: With an RDS(on) of just 1.86mΩ, it reduces conduction losses and heat generation by approximately 18% compared to conventional wide-SOA counterparts.
These features enhance system stability and power efficiency, helping to lower operating costs. The RY7P250BM comes in a standard 8×8mm package for easy design integration.
