October 14, 2025, Shanghai, China — ROHM Co., Ltd., a leading global semiconductor manufacturer headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, today announced the successful development of the UCR10C series of sintered metal shunt resistors. This series achieves the industry's highest rated power in the 2012 size (2.0mm x 1.25mm) for resistance values ranging from 10mΩ to 100mΩ.
Addressing demands from both the automotive and industrial equipment markets for greater power handling, higher reliability, and improved accuracy, ROHM utilized a sintering process and optimized the thermal dissipation structure. This enables the new products to achieve a rated power of 1.0W to 1.25W, doubling the performance compared to conventional thick-film and metal plate type products of the same size. This breakthrough allows customers to replace larger components or those with special structures, facilitating device miniaturization and a reduction in component count.
The UCR10C series employs a metal resistance element, featuring a very low Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR) of 0 to +60ppm/°C. This effectively minimizes errors caused by temperature fluctuations, ensuring highly accurate current detection. Furthermore, the products demonstrate excellent reliability in temperature cycle tests, fully meeting the stringent long-term stability requirements of harsh application environments like automotive systems.
Additionally, the series is completely lead-free, aligning with environmental requirements.
