November 25, 2025, Malvern, Pennsylvania, and Shanghai, China — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the launch of the VORA1150, a new 1500 V automotive-grade 1 Form A solid state relay in a 4-pin SMD-8 package. Designed for 800 V battery monitoring systems in automotive, energy storage, and industrial applications, the Vishay VORA1150 offers a repetitive withstand voltage of 1414 Vpeak and a maximum leakage current as low as 1 µA.
The new relay features an innovative 4-pin design that provides a 5 mm creepage distance on its output pins, complying with DIN EN-60644-1 standards for insulation monitoring applications in 800 V battery monitoring systems. Additionally, the VORA1150 meets the withstand voltage (hipot) test requirements for 800 V battery architectures in electric vehicles (EVs).
These AEC-Q102 certified devices enable insulation and leakage current monitoring in battery management systems (BMS), pre-charge relays, onboard chargers, energy storage systems, industrial HVAC systems, and solar panels. In these applications, the relay's high repetitive withstand voltage and molding material with a Comparative Tracking Index (CTI) of 600 provide enhanced reliability, while maximum turn-on and turn-off times of just 150 µs and 250 µs, respectively, ensure fast operation.
The VORA1150 is RoHS compliant, halogen-free, meets Vishay's green standards, and offers 0.9 mA surge current capability, a 5300 VRMS insulation test voltage, and an operating temperature range from -40 °C to +125 °C.
