Vishay Intertechnology has introduced the new VLMRGB6122 series tricolor LED in a compact PLCC-6 surface-mount package (3.5mm × 2.8mm × 1.4mm). The device integrates individually controllable red, green, and blue chips, supporting mixed-color output that covers the entire color gamut triangle within the CIE 1931 color space.

With a luminous intensity of 2800 mcd at 20 mA, the LED delivers 70% higher brightness than previous solutions while reducing package height by 22%. It operates across -40°C to +110°C, is AEC-Q102 certified, and offers robust ESD protection (8 kV for blue/green, 2 kV for red). Suitable for automotive ambient lighting, instrument indicators, full-color displays, and backlighting applications.

The VLMRGB6122 supports IR reflow soldering, complies with RoHS and halogen-free standards, providing a high-brightness, reliable color solution for automotive and consumer electronics lighting designs.
