September 10, 2025, Shanghai, China – Japanese semiconductor manufacturer ROHM and German automotive parts giant Schaeffler Group jointly announced the official start of mass production for a new high-voltage 'inverter brick' equipped with ROHM's SiC MOSFET chips. This product is designed for a major Chinese automobile manufacturer.
As a core component of the electric drive system, this inverter brick offers exceptional performance. It not only exceeds the current mainstream 800V voltage limit, supporting higher battery voltages, but also achieves a peak current output of 650Arms. Leveraging ROHM's SiC technology, the product enhances efficiency and power while successfully reducing its size, positioning it as a key product to advance the next generation of electric vehicles.
ROHM and Schaeffler have been strategic partners since 2020. The successful mass production of this new product marks a concrete achievement in their collaboration within the SiC field.
